Last time on the blog we took a look at popular wedding themes for 2016, exploring the key design elements that develop the Trendy-Luxe, Vintage Garden, and Modern Boho themes.  Today, let’s take a look at my favorite key design element, and a must have for every wedding – fresh flower bouquets and arrangements – and how they fit into these wedding themes.

Classic Luxury Wedding Theme

For the elegant or “trendy-luxe” theme —  rose-Gold, mixed metals, tarnished vintage containers, glitter, and sequins with high sheen finishes, or spray-painted faux finishes vessels. Flowers such as gardenias, roses calla lilies, and stephanotis. Overabundant and opulent flower designs that are draping. We see lots of traditional colors of whites, greens, and creams being used with soft touches of blush.  Crystals, mirrors and candlelight complete this look and add ambiance to the event.

Modern Bohemian Wedding Theme

Pottery, colorful glass, and bright ceramics with beaded accents and ethnic-inspired prints inspire this theme. This is eclectic gypsy inspired look is fun and unique. Flowers such as sunflowers, daisies, and gerberas for a very free-spirited style. Simple casual mono-botanical flower designs along with unique accessories finish the reception tables and bouquets.

“Vintage Garden” Wedding Theme

michael_skaff_blog_garden-2Teapots, lanterns, baskets, mixed old floral patterned china, depression glass colored containers and velvet accompany vintage glass, pottery with metallic finishes, and rustic wood. Flowers include eucalyptus, peonies, hydrangeas, garden roses, and amaranthus. Casual Flower designs with that “just picked” informal garden appeal. Clay flower pots filled with fragrant herbs plants is another way to achieve this garden inspired look.
