After years of working in a corporate setting in which I had very little, to no contact with the people that ultimately get to enjoy and admire the flowers, bouquets, and arrangements that I would design, I felt the pull of finding that emotional connection to my work once again. I missed the people – the brides, the event planners, and the homeowners looking for fresh décor.

I had gotten used to designing a bouquet, or line of bouquets, getting it ready for photography, and then moving on to the next project. I no longer had the opportunity to see a space come to life with the beauty of flowers, or the faces that would light up when they would enter into that space, glowing with surprise and delight. As each year passed, though I was enjoying my work and my life, I knew I would have to come back to my roots at some point.

Let the Sunshine In

Let the Sunshine In

And that is how Skaff Floral Creations came back to life, opening its doors in May at the new Hinsdale, Illinois location. I knew I wanted to create a business based on my love of design and flowers that wouldn’t be your average flower shop. It would cater instead to the events and projects I loved to work on — such as weddings and special events, as well as working with clients to dress up their home or corporate environment with fresh flowers and arrangements.

Sometimes when you search for simplicity, breaking free of what no longer speaks to you anymore, and choose to do what you truly have a passion for, what you find is your life’s calling. I am excited for this new chapter in my life and cannot wait to work with clients throughout the Chicagoland area to create extraordinary moments through the natural beauty of fresh flowers and design.
