So far we have taken a look at popular wedding themes for 2016; the flower themes that go hand-in-hand with those themes; and the colors that are capturing everyone’s heart in 2016. Today let’s discuss every bride’s favorite topic – the wedding dress.
The wedding dress should help you express your personal style, flatter you from head to toe, and transform you into what you feel is the best possible version of yourself. Make sure the gown expresses what you want and don’t settle for something that kind of works. Go for the dream!
Here’s a look at 2016 wedding dress trends
The main 2016 wedding dress trends include high necklines and deep plunging V-necklines; cut-outs with a peek of midriff in the bodice; layers of lace, fringe and feather finishes; asymmetrical silhouettes, tiered silhouettes; and over-skirts or capes to easily switch up the look from the ceremony to the reception. Also taking the runway by storm for the wedding season ahead are gowns that showcase floral prints and blush color hues as an alternative to the traditional white or off-white gowns.
For you brides out there, in my experience, the wedding gown is usually the one thing that truly sets the tone for your wedding celebration. Once the gown is chosen, all other choices seem to stem from that one choice – including which flowers are chosen and style of the bouquets; how the venue is decorated; and even what kind of entertainment you choose.
